The finals of the 53rd AVI Junior National Badminton Championship 2025 will commence on September 5th, Friday, at four venues across Colombo and its suburbs. Organised and conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools’ Badminton Association (SLSBA), the event set off during May with the preliminary rounds from the Zonal levels throughout the island.
The top teams to qualify from the Provinces, following the completion of the Zonal level rounds, will now travel to Colombo to compete for honours in the five-day finals of the 53rd AVI Junior National Badminton Championship 2025.
The finals, which is set to begin on September 5th, will set off with an opening ceremony at the St. Thomas’ College Indoor Sports Complex in Mt. Lavinia and will continue until September 9th at four selected venues. The venues slotted to host the cream of young and aspiring talents across from the island are D.S. Senanayake College Indoor Stadium in Colombo, S. Thomas’ College Indoor Sports Complex in Mt. Lavinia, St. Joseph’s College Indoor Stadium in Darley Road and the Homer Indoor Stadium in Malabe.
The finals will be held on the final day followed by an awards ceremony at the St. Joseph’s College Indoor Stadium in Darley Road with officials from SLSBA and sponsors AVI, expected to grace the occasion. A large number of school boys and girls are set to compete in the finals of the topmost badminton event organised for schools annually by the SLSBA.
