The stage is set for the Ceylon Masters International Badminton Championships 2026, with organisers confirming that preparations are in full swing for the five-day tournament scheduled to take place from June 25 to 29 at the newly built Coolest AIR Sports Complex in Rajagiriya.
The international masters event is expected to attract veteran shuttlers from several countries, bringing together former champions and passionate players for one of the region’s biggest badminton competitions for senior athletes.
Entries remain open for players in the 35 to 75 age categories, with competitions to be conducted in Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Combined events. The championship aims to provide a competitive platform for masters players to continue showcasing their skill, fitness and passion for badminton.
Officials said the tournament will offer participants a complete international event experience, with arrangements already in place for registration, travel, transport, accommodation and refreshments. Competitors will also receive participation gifts, while winners will be rewarded with special prizes.
The tournament venue, the Coolest AIR Sports Complex situated on the outskirts of Colombo, is expected to provide world-class playing conditions for the championship. Organisers believe the modern indoor facility will add further appeal to the event and help create a memorable experience for players and spectators alike.
With just a month remaining for the championships, organisers have urged badminton enthusiasts and masters players to submit their entries early and be part of what is expected to be a highly competitive and festive international event.
