1. The service
lms.lk is an online learning management system. We provide each customer (an "academy" — a teacher, tuition class or institute) with its own website for publishing courses, managing students, taking payments and sending notifications. The service is delivered online; there are no physical goods.
2. Accounts
- You must give accurate details when you sign up and keep your password private.
- The person who creates an academy is its owner and is responsible for everything done in it, including by the lecturers, moderators and students they add.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an academy.
- Each login belongs to one academy.
3. Free trial
New academies get a 14-day free trial. No payment details are needed. When the trial ends, the academy is unavailable to students until a plan is paid for. Nothing is deleted at that point.
4. Plans, prices and payment
- Plans and their prices are shown on our pricing page in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR).
- You pay in advance for one month or one year, by card or wallet through PayHere, or by bank transfer. A bank transfer activates your plan once we have confirmed it reached our account, normally within one working day.
- Paying early adds the new period on top of the time you already have.
- We do not keep your card details — card payments are processed by PayHere (PayHere (Private) Limited) under its own terms.
- We may change prices. Changes never affect a period you have already paid for, and we will announce them in advance.
5. Late payment and suspension
If a paid period ends without renewal, the academy keeps working for a 3-day grace period and then becomes unavailable to students until payment is made. We may also suspend an academy that breaks these terms (section 7).
6. Your academy's own payments
Fees your students pay for your courses go directly to the PayHere merchant account or bank account you connect. We are not a party to those payments, do not hold that money and take no commission on it. Refunds, disputes and receipts for course fees are between you and your students.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use lms.lk to:
- publish content you do not have the right to share, or that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful or sexually explicit;
- mislead students about courses, prices or qualifications;
- send spam or messages people have not agreed to receive;
- attempt to access another academy's data, disrupt the service, or probe it for weaknesses without our written permission.
8. Content and ownership
You keep all rights to the courses, videos, notes and other material you upload. You give us permission to store and display it only as needed to run your academy. The lms.lk software, design and brand belong to us.
9. Data protection
How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. For the data of your students, you decide what is collected and why; we process it on your behalf to provide the service.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available at all times but cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a core feature you are paying for during a paid period without notice.
11. Cancellation and your data
You can stop using the service at any time by not renewing. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy. You can ask us to delete your academy and its data; we keep billing records for as long as the law requires.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profit or lost students), and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date above shows the current version; for significant changes we will notify academy owners before they take effect.
